What I've been...

LISTENING TO

I was a little late getting around to listening to this album, but I am a firm believer that these life changing albums find you when you need them. Alligator Bites Never Heal by Doechii is empowering, healing, raw & uplifting. In an interview Doechii said 'people remember how an album makes them feel, and I want to make them feel.' This will do that just that, and I highly recommend diving into her world.

READING

I dove into a classic Agatha Christie read over the holidays which featured
3 books in 1. I had never read her books before, they are quick reads, with lots of fun and quirky characters. I'm not sure this book made me an Agatha Christie, but if you are into murder mysteries this would be a great book to dive into.

WATCHING

This is an epic film. It is a statement on society's harsh beauty standards for women, our normalcy of cosmetic surgery, the scrutiny on our bodies, feminism, and our fascination with celebrity. It was stunningly shot, and with very minimal dialogue Coralie Forgeat really let Demi, Margot and the supporting actors mannerisms shine. I will say it is part gore film so, it might not be for everyone, but it I felt that just lent itself to depiction of women and our lives.

DOING
I have been doing nothing but spend time with my family! We watched Christmas movies, went sledding, ate SO much food, opened presents, played games, had dance parties and got lots of quality time together. This time of year is made extra special because of the kiddos in my life.
WORKING ON
December is much slower for me. I try and move slower, do a big reset for the studio and myself, and I try to get outside as much as possible. I am lucky to have a beautiful forest near me, one that I grew up biking and exploring in, so it is always sentimental to walk through it and enjoy the splendour.
